Have not been fishing for a long time, finally got some time to spare for fishing. This time round we will on Ah boat for some night bashing. This was our first time trying night fishing, nice weather, not choppy and no seasick for me. Here are some of the pictures from Ah Long boat

4 April 2012 Desaru Bottom Fishing With Ah Long

Just came back from Desaru on 4 april 2012 bottom fishing. This time round my and wifey left home at 5.30am to pick Thomas and Nicole. Before reaching my car, suddenly rain heavily. We decide to carry on our journey to pick Thomas and Nicole. Reached Thomas place at 6.15am and we continue to move on to Taman Sentosa area for breakfast.


This place is famous for their fishball noodle.



We reach Desaru about 8.45am, The first thing we ask Ah Long is , can we still go on for fishing? He say can but have to wait till rain stop.

Catch wasn't that good that day, some are sleeping and some are talking to Ah Long.

When everyone is relaxing talking to each other, suddenly Thomas rod blend and fish is on.



After about 10min, Thomas the fish finally gave up. Is a stingray!


Thomas hook this up with Salty Fighter PE 0.8 to 2 and Shimano Stradic 2500Ci4.

Finally fish start to take in our bait and I was hoping something big could take my bait in order for me to test my reel.



Somehow the fish prefer to take on wifey bait. Wifey have fun fighting this bugger and it is an Ebek the fish I hope to fight with.


Wifey don't dare to touch live fish so I took photo with the Ebek on behalf of her.

Anglers Paradise

There is a new prawning,patin fishing at punggol, beside that they have salt water fishing which is similar to patin fishing. The only different is that you have to use baits, they charge $8 per rod and the bite rate is good. Heard from the staff that there is ACK, Ang Kuay, Taiwan Ngog in the pond.



Wifey decided to give it a try.


After few trys, i decided to give a shot on the patin pond. This pond is different from Hai Bin as the hook is smaller and you need to set the hook on the fish which is not easy. I still prefer Hai Bin's patin fishing.

Will be going to Desaru on 4 April,stay tune for my catch report.

Come to know from one of a fishing blog that Chop Hock Heng is closing end of March 2012 so went there today. Heard from Alan that this Saturday 31 March 2012 will be their last day of opeartion.

Prawning And Patin Fishing @Hai Bin

Last week one of our neighbour actually ask wheather we would want to go prawing at punggol Hai Bin. Wifey and me had never do prawning before, so we decided to give it a try. Prawning is not easy for us, really need to focus on the float.
Damage for prawning : $33 for 3 hours

Beside the prawning pond, there is this pond for Patin fishing which operate from 7pm to 3am. No reel, no bait, just a fishing rod with leader and hook.
Damage : $5 per rod (game over when line)

Paid $5 grab the rod and off I go to the pond. Within split second, FISH ON!!!


I went left right left again and line snap. Haha this thing is so addictive. I took out my wallet and went to the payment counter again. Second try, went left right left again, this time round the fish is tired and I manage to bring the fish to the side of the pond, grab the tail and I bought up that bugger.

It was a fun and additive game. Will be back for some Patin fishing soon.

Bottom Fishing With Desaru Ah Long (9 Mar 2012)

Took the new express way to Desaru was much faster than the old road we use to take. This time round is took us about 30min to reach.

Malaysia Tackle Shop ( Blue Water )

02 March 2012 went in to Malaysia tackle shop (Blue Water)to buy life jacket. Price are slighty cheaper compare to Singapore. Got this at RM 240, which is about $100 SGD.



Also bought a Eupro Salty Fighter at RM116 which is about $49 SGD.

Re-visit to Punggol Aunty Pond (27 Jan 2012)

Hands still itchy after past 2 day pond fishing, so went back to aunty pond again with Raymond.

We have decided to give a try at Fishpal somewhere mid February, follower up by March we will be going for our first offshore trip for 2012.
Hopefully I can have more time fishing and share our fishing journey with everyone.

Visit to Punggol Fishing Pond

I AM BACK...I have not been fishing for the last 11 months, finally today I can go back to fishing.
Today, Raymond, wifey and me wanted to try out Fishpal at Punggol Marina, however Fishpal is close maintenance so we head down to Punggol Fishing Pond. Bite rate wasn't that good today, only manage to hook up 1 ACK by wifey and 1 MJ by Raymond.

Damage : $50 for 3hours
Baits : 100g live prawns
Catch : 1 ACK and 1 MJ
